Please be aware of the following recent updates to GMS processes, job aids or reports as of October 29, 2018.
HCM Update
HCM181029.01 – Budget Check Bug Fix
Impacted Roles: CFO, Finance Partner, GU-Budget Analyst HCM, GU-Senior Business Manager
A bug has been fixed for Budget Check transactions for Adjunct or Temporary additional positions (in position management) that sometimes triggered an exception. The system was configured to bypass Budget Check for these types of positions, but would still sometimes trigger an exception for transactions when the position is an additional job.
Workday has provided a fix for this bug, so you should no longer receive budget check exception override requests for any Adjunct or Temporary additional positions.
HCM181029.02 – GU Position Restrictions Costing Allocations Report Update
Impacted Roles: Academic HR Partner, Campus Department Administrator, Campus Finance Partner, CFO, Department Administrator, Finance Partner, GMS Core Team, GU-Budget Analyst HCM, GU-Campus Budget Analyst, GU-Finance Institutional Reporting, GU-Finance Institutional Reporting Plus, GU-HR Institutional Reporting, HR Contact
GU Position Restrictions Costing Allocations report updated to automatically filter out inactive costing allocations and add Last Modified Date field to the report.
HCM181029.03 – GU Position Restrictions Report Update
Impacted Roles: Academic HR Partner, CFO, Compensation Analyst, Department Administrator, Employment and Recruitment Specialist, Finance Partner, GMS Core Team, GU-HR Institutional Reporting, HR Contact, HR Executive, IDEAA Administrator, Institutional Reporting
GU Position Restrictions report updated with various tweaks and enhancements, including:
- Change the Position Budget Worktags to be the Position Budget Worktags from Highest Line Amount
- Filter out merit compensation plans
- Sort costing allocation fields by level and then by distribution percentage
HCM181029.04 – My Job Requisitions Report Update
Impacted Roles: GU-HR Institutional Reporting
My Job Requisitions report is now shared with the GU-HR Institutional Reporting role.
HCM181029.05 – Academic Appointment BPs Now as Sub-processes for Staffing
Impacted Roles: Academic HR Partner
Academic Appointment Business Processes (Add Academic Appointment, Update Academic Appointment) have been to the Hire, Add Additional Job, and Change Job business processes as sub-processes. This will improve the quality of appointment data by automatically routing it to the Academic HR Partner when a staffing transaction is completed for faculty members.
