What’s New in GMS – September 12, 2023

Please be aware of the following recent updates to GMS processes, job aids or reports as of September 12, 2023.

System Update

Workday’s semi-annual release of new features went live on September 9. This Workday release delivered several enhancements to GMS. For more details about these changes, please refer to the Employee Quick Reference Guide for more details.

HCM Updates

Impacted Roles: FMLA Coordinator, Benefits Partner, Benefits Analyst

New To Do: Review of Termination to automatically trigger once an Termination bp is successfully completed for employees resding in states NJ, NY and GA. This configuration is to help the FMLA Coordinator send unemployment noticies and records to employees terminated from states in NY, NJ, GA. There is a new report Termination State Notifications – NJ, NY, GA to assist with filing out the notices for each state.

Impacted Roles: HR Contact, I-9 Analyst

Initiators and approvers are no longer able to deny hires or change job business processes, which will prevent issues with correcting job requisitions. If a hire or change job is incorrect, please send it back or cancel the business process.

Impacted Roles: HR Contact, Managers, Human Resources Business Partner

An update to onboarding notifications as the New Employee Orientation will now be held on the Tuesdays following the New Hire Schedule.

Impacted Roles: Manager – Qatar

New PTO Balance alert to Qatar managers of administrative employees. PTO Balance notifications will inform managers on a quarterly basis the current PTO balance of all of their direct reports.

Benefits and Pay Hub is a single location where employees may review benefits, compensation and payroll information, including payslips and retirement contribution elections. It also includes the worker’s Total Rewards statement.

Impacted Roles: Human Resources Business Partner

The HR Business Partners role now has the ability to End Probation Period as a substep of termination so that they can easily manage probation periods and accompanying reviews for workers with a future-dated termination.

Financial Updates

Impacted Roles: GU Accounts Receivable Manager & GU-Post-Award Cash Management Specialist

Attachments can now be added to customer deposit transactions.
