Please be aware of the following recent updates to GMS processes, job aids or reports as of August 14th, 2017.
HCM Updates
HCM170814.01 – HR Contact Consolidation Project – Changes to Department Administrator Role
As a result of the HR Contact (HRC) Consolidation project, other roles will be modified to help facilitate the consolidation. The Department Administrator role was modified to grant access to initiate costing allocations for workers and positions.
Please refer to the Assign Costing Allocation job aid for specific instructions on how to complete the Assign Costing Allocation business process.
HCM170814.02 – Frozen Positions as part of Classification and Compensation roll out
As part of the Classification and Compensation implementation, a position was frozen if Human Resources was unable to determine the current position details in order to provide an accurate classification under the new structure. If you have a position that is frozen for this reason please reach out to HR to review the position restrictions and ensure that the position is reviewed and a current classification is provided. Once HR is able to review the position and provide an updated classification, an Edit Position Restrictions process should be completed before the position can be unfrozen.
If you are unsure how to determine if a positions is Frozen or how to Unfreeze a position please refer to the Manage Position Freeze job aid.
HCM170814.03 – Compensation Statements Received as part of Classification & Compensation roll out
As part of the Classification and Compensation implementation all Administrative employees whose grade changed as a result of the project received a Compensation Statement notification and inbox item.
Please be aware that this is expected behavior as the statements are generated when an employee has a completed compensation change event. This includes changes to the employee’s compensation grade which was updated as part of the Compensation and Classification project. If this notification is received the worker should review, acknowledge and submit the statement. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Department of Human Resources.
If you have questions regarding these changes or any other GMS support questions please contact help@georgetown.edu.
