Workday at Georgetown

The implementation of Workday at Georgetown occurred in two phases.  Implementation of the Human Capital Management (HCM) system occurred in January of 2012 and the Financials implementation occurred in July of 2014.  The objectives of the Workday program at Georgetown include:

  • Reduce institutional risk
  • Implement modern and standard business processes to track consistent data
  • Eliminate shadow systems
  • Implement a modern HR, Benefits, Payroll, Grants Management and Financials system at a much lower cost than an ERP implementation
  • Reduce future operating costs
  • Eliminate the risk of Georgetown not keeping up with software releases and technology innovation
  • Eliminate the risk of Georgetown customizing the software product, which increases the total cost of ownership
