What’s New in GMS – October 11, 2022

Please be aware of the following recent updates to GMS processes, job aids or reports as of October 11, 2022

HCM Updates

As of September 9, 2022, payment elections updated for current Eswatini workers to set the default payment election for both payroll and expenses to check using their local currency.

As of September 10, 2022, workers may include name pronunciation information on their GMS profile, making it easier for others to correctly pronounce their name.

As of September 10, 2022, the candidate home experience for external candidate was updated to allow candidates to more easily search and apply for positions. The enhancements include:

  • Updated layout
  • Job postings open in a preview on the same page as job listings
  • Welcome page for candidate home updated with candidate tasks for job applications
  • Similar Jobs section recommends jobs to candidates based on skills and past applications

As of September 10, 2022, one-time payments that have a payment date after a worker’s termination date can be selected for forfeiture during the termination business process. This enhancement will avoid overpaying terminated employees.

As of September 10, 2022, new home screen and search features are available. This allows employees to easily access information, with applications readily accessible at all times. The home page is configured to provide access to relevant and time-sensitive tasks. In addition, searches are now broken down by category.

As of September 10, 2022, when an inbox is delegated employees will retain access to the tasks in their inbox.

As of September 10, 2022, payroll accounting adjustments may be created off of the related actions menu of completed on-cycle and off-cycle payroll results, providing an enhanced user experience.

As of September 10, 2022, new hires may complete their withholding elections on Workday for Android, iPad and iPhone.

Updated NetID integration with GMS so that future dates hires are captured up to 1 year in advance of their effective hire date. This was previously set to 6 months ahead of their hire date.

Full-Time Faculty on Main Campus and GUMC will receive an email notification from GMS when a compensation change or promotion business process is completed using certain reason codes.
