What’s New in GMS – November 20, 2017

Please be aware of the following recent updates to GMS processes, job aids or reports as of November 20, 2017.  

HCM Updates

HCM171120.01 – CFO Update

The CFO role has been modified to allow for the ability to VIEW completed Edit Position Restrictions transactions. This will provide the CFO with better resources to review / approve transactions in GMS. You can check the position restrictions history from the “Business Process History” tab of the “View Position Restrictions” task.

Finance Updates

FIN171120.01 – GU Award Header Update

GU Award Header Information has been enhanced to include new prompts and columns. The order of the existing columns for some of them have been rearranged for ease of use.

1. Prompts to show only those awards that do not have a Cost Center or a Location or a Lead PI or a Grant Manager assigned at the Award Header. These prompts can be used to make any corrections to the award or grant based on what is missing
2. Prompt to show only those awards that do not have a Private Business Use special condition assigned.  Please see the Instructions for how to monitor awards that have yet to be assigned a Private Business Use, Location, and Cost Center.
